Rachel Purgason, director
Mrs. Purgason is a CISD alumna and graduate of Sam Houston State University where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Math.
Mrs. Purgason began her dance career in fifth grade and was a member of her junior high and high school drill teams until she graduated. Along with dance, she practiced martial arts for 12 years, which helped with flexibility, precision, and, most importantly, discipline. Mrs. Purgason is thrilled to be a part of the Highland Girls traditions and can’t wait to see what is in store for the years to come!
Caitlin Ballard, assistant director
Mrs. Ballard is a CISD alumna and graduate of Texas A&M University where she majored in Health with a focus in Health Education and English.
Mrs. Ballard brings with her a background of dance and drill team experience. She began her dance career in elementary school as a studio dancer and later served as an officer on both her junior high and high school drill teams. In addition to teaching her the importance of flexibility and precision, Mrs. Ballard’s involvement in drill team has instilled within her the self-discipline, responsibility, and sense of teamwork that she carries with her today. Mrs. Ballard is delighted to take part in and continue to carry on the Highland Girls traditions, and is eager to see what the coming years will hold!
